Guidance needed to work from India please

Hello Everyone

I am a British Citizen with OCI. I wanted to relocate to India and I am checking with my company if I can work from India for a couple of years (~3 years) for personal reasons.

My company is a small to medium size US-EU-Japan-Australia based firm. They don't have any presence in India and I am sure there would be a lot of tax related questions if they have to support my move.

Could you please guide me with the available options please?

Should I work for them as freelancer or contractor or I should register a company in India, so that my UK employer can pay me without much tax head-ache for them and I don't end up losing lot of tax paying in UK and in India? Also what will happen to UK National Insurance please?

Any inputs will be very helpful please? Kindly guide me.
