I am currently on a Global Talent Visa (GTV), with my wife and children as dependents under the GTV-dependent route. All of our visas are set to expire on December 30, 2024.
I am now planning to apply for Indefinite Leave to Remain (ILR). Simultaneously, I wish to extend my wife and children’s visas on the GTV-dependent visa route for 3 years, as per the rule GT 24.1.
However, I have encountered confusion in the GTV-dependent visa application forms, specifically regarding the Immigration Health Surcharge (IHS) payment section. Here are the details and my concerns:
IHS Section Requirements: The form requires details of the main applicant’s visa, including its expiry date. However, the available visa options do not include ILR, and they only list visa categories with defined timelines.
Clarifications Required:
- Given that I am applying for ILR, is it appropriate to select GTV as the main applicant's visa category in the dependent visa forms?
- If selecting GTV is correct, what expiry date should I provide for my visa in the IHS section? Should I use a tentative expiry date (e.g., December 2027, three years from now), even though I will hold ILR status during this time?
Thank you for your guidance!
