Thanks ford for pointing out. I thought giving the HSMP ref No. would do.. It is really necessary to attach it?

Thanks,

One more extra sheet of paper would do no harm, Plus I think its become a standard seeing all the previous applicants.

All the best.

IT is really useful

Post by ethan » Sun Feb 20, 2005 8:36 pm

I think those are useful for everyone. I am starting to extend my HSMP now. However I am very confused that what is Economic Activity? Why you do not send the copy of contract to HO? Or is it neccessary? By the way, my salary is not high around 15k+bonus, and I have been married with my wife and a 5 months kid. What about your concil tax? I do not know the probability of my application if I submit.

If someone can give me a big hand, it is really appreciated!

Best wishes,

ethan

Ethan,
Economic activity means you earn money and you spend money. With all due respect the HO *may* consider 15,000 too little for a highly skilled migrant. I have read somewhere that they would generally expect a highly skilled migrant to be a higher rate taxpayer - I don't know if that is true but I understand it is very difficult to live on 15,000 in UK, especially with a wife and a child. But of course you won't know until you apply...

I don't accept with you totally. Many HSMP holders extended their stay even without a Job or doing some odd jobs. So getting 15K should not be a constrain for HO to decide as long as he has not gone for public fund. I would say 15 K is sufficient enough to manage a family in this country. Also no one afford to wait till getting a well paid permanent job being a new migrant.

Baskey

Ayesha_Khan,

Dont worry Khan, Be positive. Strictly speaking driving test certificate should not matter much at all. As long as u r employed and getting monthly salary, u should be alright with extension. Even people extending without job offers!!. So dont be scary...........

Good luck,

Hi, thanks for your encouragment.

However, I am not sure whether we need to send council tax receipt too. I still have not started to pay it. However, I think if I apply I should pay it. What do you think?

Any suggestion.

about contract

Post by ethan » Wed Feb 23, 2005 12:28 am

I found there is contract in your enclosed files. However, in my conpany we have no contract. DO you think it is really important? I can get the letter from my manager even boss, but I do not think I can get a formal contract.

Contract is nothing but letter of Appointment letter with all terms and conditions. If you dont have one try to get it from your company. It is better..

Thanks a lot for this information. I will try to think about those terms and conditions and write a draft to my manager. HOpefully, he will be happy with it.
