ILR validity if staying outside

Post by S_GUPTA » Wed Jan 15, 2025 11:41 am

Hi,

I have ILR for past 7 months. What if I started working in a different country for year and come to UK for few days every year during those years - will my ILR remain valid?

Thanks

ILR is only lost if you stay outside the UK for more than 24 months

You can stay away and return within two years but you can't just return for a few days and "reset" your ILR clock, I think you need to return and actually plan to live here permanently.

That was required under paragraph 18 of the rules but was recently removed.
