Spouse Visa on Carers allowance

Hi,

A question from someone if anyone can answer please ?

Is it possible to apply for a spouse visa when the wife is a British Citizen and is a carer for her daughter and gets carers allowance.

She currently only cares for the daughter and does not work but does get universal credit in UK only for herself.

Will the carers allowance and universal credit she gets be enough if the husband applies for a spouse visa ?
or will she have to get a Job and be earning a specific amount ?

I know that people who get carers allowance are exempt for the £18600 financial requirement but wanted to confirm if spouse visa would be eligible just based on Carers allowance and Universal Credit ?

If your wife is in receipt of carers allowance you will be exempt from meeting the £18,600 min. income condition.

However, the adequate maintenance test has to be passed. This is assessed on the basis that the projected weekly income (“A”), less weekly accommodation costs (“B”), would be equal to, or more than, the amount the family would be entitled to if they were in receipt of income support (“C”).
