VAF5 - EEA Family Permit

Post by Jersey » Wed Aug 03, 2011 12:40 pm

Hi

I've been on these forums for a while and always found them very helpful (also tried to help myself with what I could).

Anyway, I know have an enquiry regarding EEA Family Permit, and I couldn't find a consistent answer to my query, so I'm opening a new thread.

I'm EU citizen residing in the UK and marrying next month my NON-EU girlfriend. After wedding she will apply for EEA Family Permit, and we looked already at the VAF5 form and there seems to be too many questions there which lot of them I believe are irrelevant (financial status, work, etc...), as according to EU regulations the secretary of state has to give this permit to a spouse of EU citizen.

I found this blog which supports my thoughts: http://eumovement.wordpress.com/2011/05 ... a-citizen/

Can anyone who filled this form, advise me what should be filled in the form and what not? or whether I should write in some sections N/A ?

Many thanks.

Wrong forum.

You only need to proof identity and relationship. If you have already been in the UK for more than three months you would also have to show that you are exercising treaty rights.
