ILR employment letter

Post by merc90 » Tue Dec 05, 2023 2:44 pm

Dear board members,

I will be applying for the IRL on 29th December. I wanted to confirm few things before I make the application.
  • I have just received the employment letter from my current employer. In my email to them I asked them to write that I am required for the job for the foreseeable future as the members have suggested on other posts on the board. However, since my contract is till the end of September they just wrote that my contract is full-time, fixed-term till the end of September, 2024. Will that be fine or should I ask them to include that "I am required for the foreseeable future". I understand it's just a verbose.
  • I asked them to include that the period of absence from work were approved but they did not. Should that be an issue as I have travelled multiple times outside UK on this contract? If I understand correctly I don't have to provide the dates of the letter as letter of absence is no longer required.
  • I will be travelling out of UK later this week and will be submitting the application after I return on 28th. I believe that should not be an issue, particularly given that the letter is dated today.
  • I will be submitting the payslip for December (hopefully it will be generated by then) and the bank statement for December which will show the November's pay. Should I also include the payslip for November as that pay will be on the bank statement or should I just get the transaction of last 4-5 days of December that will show the pay for December (obviously if it will be done by then).
Your suggestions will be highly appreciated.
Best regards

All you need to know about the sponsor letter for Skilled Worker route

You must include the latest payslip dated before the application date and a corresponding statement showing the salary deposited. The statement could be date after the date of application

Thanks Zimba for your prompt reply. I've read that before and hence asked the HR to include that I am required for the foreseeable future. However, they just gave me a letter with
I can confirm that Mr [employee] has been employed by [employer] since
[start date] as a Research Software Engineer. This is a full-time, Fixed-Term contract until
30 September 2024.
The Standard Occupational Classification code for this role is 2136, for which the salary
requirement under 2136 is £34,000 per annum. XX’s current salary is £[salary] per
annum and thus exceeds the required rate for the job as stated in the codes of practice.
I was just wondering if it would be okay without it and hence the post.

I have asked them again to issue me a new letter including that I am required for the foreseeable future.

Apart from that, does the letter looks okay, or should I get something more.

The letter needs to state you are needed for the foreseeable future.

All other parts appears OK.

Have you gotten a decision back on your ILR application? I'm in the same situation, my employer letter didn't include the "foreseeable future" :(
