ILR Online Application form

Post by Zain Ali » Mon Sep 21, 2020 11:41 pm

Firstly, I hope everyone is ok during this pandemic. Secondly, I just wanted to ask a few things as this is my first time applying for ILR online so needed a bit of advice.

Brief History:

I came to this country in November 2010 with my family (wife and two children) and then after living here for 7 years we applied for the 7-year rule as my children were under 18 and had spent 7 years here and we were granted visa for that and now we will be completing our ten years of living legally in the UK. We all have passed our life in the UK and English Language B1 test except my daughter, because she is still under 18, will be turning 18 on 10 October 2020. I have started the online form for 10-year long residence (SET LR) already and below are few questions if you could please answer them.

Questions:

1. Do I need to write a cover letter explaining the reasons for the ILR?

2. Do I need to write out the immigration history since we entered the country?

3. Do I need to upload any supporting documents for whole ten years or the last 3 years such as the birth certificate of children, marriage certificate, proof of addresses, bank statements, utility bills, rent agreements, DVLA or any other documents that shows that we have lived legally in the UK for 10 years?

4. Is it ok that for the personal information I have only given the names of my family relatives and friends with their city/country and relationship or should I also provide contact details?

5. Is it ok that I have left the question regarding “Do you have any other reasons for wanting to stay in the UK” blank and do I also tell my wife and kids to leave it blank?

6. My daughter is under 18 so does she also need to create a new online application form or will there be an option to be dependent on the parents?

7. Can someone please guide me through regarding “Declaration of consent for the Home Office to request verification checks” form. I get that they want to do verification checks so they will contact the bank so does that mean that I will have to upload bank statements or utility bills etc with the application?

8. Lastly do I just sign the part 1 of the form and leave the part 2, and 3 blanks as I don’t have any sponsors or joint accounts with my wife?

To conclude please let me know what supporting documents will go and how will it work out. Secondly, my son is unemployed but is over 18 so we will pay for his fees as well so does that mean that when he does his declaration form then he will have to sign part 1 of the form and his parents part 3 as sponsors. Please guide me through this. Thank you.

Each person applying must complete their own set LR form. You cannot add dependents to your application.

You need to fillup the application first and most of your questions will be answered.
A document checklist appears at the end on what supporting documents you need to provide(as scanned copies)
Any suggestions I make in the forum are out my personal experience and should not be taken as a legal/professional advise.

Thank you for replying and I have filled most of the form but stuck at the declaration form for the consent so should I just sign the first one and no one else signs it. Secondly does it tells me in the end what I need to upload after I have paid because its ask to pay first. Can you please also answer other questions if you can.

ILR SET LR Documents

Post by Zain Ali » Fri Sep 25, 2020 11:05 pm

I am filling an online application form for long residence and before paying just wanted to know what supporting documents would be required like I know the mandatory docs but what about things like bank statements, utility bills. If I do upload them then how many like 2, 4 or 6? and Do I also have to write a covering letter for all of my family members?

28 Days before ILR

Post by Zain Ali » Sun Oct 04, 2020 2:39 am

The validity date of the visa stamp on my passport starts from 14/10/2010. However, I entered the UK on 5th November 2010 so what will be the best date of submitting my application for ILR SET LR.

Start is initial date of entry. Apply from 8 October 2020 or before leave expires, whichever is sooner.

On the form, it says Do you have any children aged 18 years or under?

Does this mean that I don't need to mention my son because he is 19 years old? If this is the case then my wife has put both children name. Thank you

The question is self explanatory. Does not matter.

I have booked the appointment for Biometrics however what documents do I need to take with me. Plus is it possible to get a picture taken through the app or something.

Your passport, appointment booking documents and also any original documents already uploaded so that if there is any discovered to be missing or not legible you have last chance to upload it at the appointment.
