ILR SET(O) - Skilled Worker - Question about English test and absences

Hi, I'm applying for ILR SET(O) - Skilled Worker route along with my wife.

I filled the form online and one thing that puzzled me was that it only asked for the Life in the UK test reference number in the main applicant form.

When I filled my wife's form (SET(O) Partner) it asked for both the Life in the UK and the English Language test.

My forms looks like this:

Knowledge of language and life in the UK
Have you passed the Life in the UK test? Yes/No
Enter your Life in the UK test unique reference number: <My ref number>

Whereas my wife's form looks like this:

Knowledge of language and life in the UK
Have you passed the Life in the UK test? Yes/No
Enter your Life in the UK test unique reference number: <My ref number>

English language
Do you have a degree that was taught in English?
English language - degree taught in English
Have you passed an approved English language test?
Are you claiming an exemption from the English language test due to a medical or mental condition?
Do you have exceptional circumstances that prevent you from taking the test?


Another thing that is confusing to me is that I had to list all the absences from the UK whereas my wife didn't.

So my questions are:

1. Why am I not being asked to provide an English language test? Should I submit/upload it after I submit the application? Or I am not required to provide one?

2. Regarding the absences, am I the only one to provide it (as the main applicant)?

1. The skilled worker route does not have an English language requirement for the main applicants

2. Absence limits apply to main applicants. For dependants, it only applies if they had a visa issued on or after 11 Jan 2018. The form may not ask about their periods of absence

I have a follow up question if you don't mind.

There's a question there that I answered 'No' but after reading your reply it makes me think if I should anwser 'Yes'.

Does the period of stay on which this application was based include any leave granted since 11 January 2018?

My wife's visa, as well as mine, were issued in 04/2019. So, that counts as a leave granted after 2018, right?

If I change it to 'Yes' it asks for absences.

Is that correct?

I have another question about the proving her English skills.

My wife just got her IELTS Life Skills B1 results via mail.

I'm a bit confused on how to anwser the English language section. The questions are:

1. Do you have a degree that was taught in English?
No

2. Have you passed an approved English language test?
Yes

3. Did the test assess your speaking and listening skills at a level equivalent to CEFR B1 or higher?
Yes

4. How did you get your result?
Here I have two options: Online reference number or Certificate

My question is: When I did my Tier 2 application 5 years ago, my advisor chose Certificate and uploaded the IELTS results. But the gov.uk website says:

You do not need to submit any documents as part of the immigration or nationality application. Test results and scores are checked using the SELT online verification system provided by each approved SELT test provider using a SELT unique reference number.

Since we have the certificate should I select that or select the Online reference number? If the latter, the website says we should input the UKVI Number, which is only available in the certificate they send by mail not online hence my confusion.

I'm inclined to go for the Online reference number and add the UKVI Number because I've seen some people doing that and being successful but I am really not sure.
