Irish citizenship through birth - Northern Ireland

Post by ukboys09 » Sat Nov 01, 2014 10:18 pm

Hi,
I am a resident of Northern Ireland from September 2011.

Reference : http://www.citizensinformation.ie/en/mo ... scent.html

“These parents must prove that they have a genuine link to Ireland. This will be evidenced by their having 3 out of the previous 4 years reckonable residence in the island of Ireland immediately before the birth of the child.”

My stay in northern Ireland starts from September 2011 – July 2013 in PSW category and July 2013 – current date in Tier 2 General.

Questions

1) My stay in Northern Ireland during PSW visa category will be considered?
2) “Parent who is entitled to live in Northern Ireland or the Irish State without restriction on their residency.” Does this statement mean, both PSW and Tier 2 General is not valid because they come under restricted category?
3) Once the kid gets the Irish passport, can he get the British passport directly?

Thanks,
Shan.
