Join Citizenship and Passport Application (JCAP) in 2019

Hi All,

I am EU Citizen and I started the application online for citizenship. I filled the online application but I can't see any option for JCAP to apply for passport with the citizenship application.

Please let me know if JCAP is still possible with the last changes ? If yes please let me know how to apply.

Not possible for the moment. Promised to re-introduce later this year.

Sorry missed this news - where was this announced?

UKBA responded on questions regarding Sopra Steria model of service at the end of November, right before closing NDRS + JCAP service on 30th of Nov.

Q: Naturalisation applications – is there a plan for a joint passport/naturalisation application in the near future?

A: The Joint Citizenship and Passport application process is an innovative example of customer service. We are keen to deliver this in the new Service Centres and expect to be able to do so in the first quarter of 2019. As you know as we move through the transition period and launch of our new front-end mechanics across UKVI there will be a brief hiatus for the JCAP offering. We hope to recommence the offering early in 2019.

Thanks for the feedback - let's hope they can manage it, makes sense of course and it is a "selling point" for pential applicants.

It will be announced - presumably gov.uk/ UKVCAS website / and of course in this forum. But the comment from UKVI on the subject was aspirational, in my view. First UKVCAS has to bed down.

i think it will happen but could be few month before UKVCAS starting providing that service. to be honest even if they don't, you can apply for passport online and it only couple of weeks to get one.
