Hello all. I have been in the UK since 2011 on a tier 4 visa and this year I'll finally be finishing my degree and have a job lined up already. A few days ago I realised that I don't have a NiNo yet so I made an appointment but whilst I was there I didn't realise that I had to give them dates of all instances where I left the country for more than 30 days. Now I've gone out of the country for more than 30 days every summer holiday but I couldn't remember the exact dates off the top of my head. I apologised to my interviewer, informing her that I wasn't aware I would be asked of this information and I would have to return home and check all the pages of my passport to confirm the dates for the last 8 years. She told me the approximate dates would be alright so I gave her that information. As I was not feeling particularly confident about it, I did ask her to include the following statement in my form:
"I can provide exact dates of entry and exit from the country but I do not have them to hand today at the interview" and signed it.
They took photocopies of my job offer letter and my BRP and gave me a confirmation letter.
I hope it was appropriate thing to do on my part? I am not sure how much this matters in getting a NiNo and I hope my application doesn't get rejected, or worse, the home office asks me why I gave incorrect dates. Maybe I am just being a bit paranoid but I dont know.
Any help or opinions would be highly appreciated! Thanks!
