Naturalisation Application Mistake

Post by jitsingh » Sun Nov 03, 2024 5:35 pm

Hi,
While applying for Naturalisation for my wife, there is a question about fathers DOB. The DOB was wrong entered in the very first application we made in 2018 as PBS dependent. Now, if I entered the same wrong DOB of her father, will create problem further. And If I entered the correct DOB this time, it will not match with the previous application and they might reject. Can you please suggest, what should I do in this case ?
Thanks

Naturalisation isn’t an immigration application so they won’t compare everything to immigration applications.
Put the correct date in no issue. The reason they ask for parent details is to check whether you might be British already through parent.
No action to be taken. Application could not be rejected for this.

NB. I put my mother’s nationality down incorrectly and I got approved. No questions asked.

Hi,

Is it wise to detail the issue in the note section ? or Shall I put the correct DOB and let it process as it is ?
Any other view on this problem would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

There is no issue.
If you haven't completed the form yet put in the correct date.
This is not statutory information on which the application can be refused.

Hi,

I agree that this is not a statutory information, however if they come back and ask me why you gave wrong information in your previous application and now you give different info ? It might delay the application process. Am I right ? or still overthinking

Thanks

You are overthinking. I have never seen anyone on here reporting issues around this.
However if you are really that nervous put in the correct date, which you should do anyway, and write a short note explaining what happened on your previous immigration application.

It will be OK. Extremely unlikely this information will even be used as you are not claiming British citizenship through ancestry.

Hi,

Thanks for the information. However, another question out of context just to avoid the mistake about referees. One of the first referee is one of my friend who is a surgeon in a hospital and second one is from IT background. I am adding the same referees for me my wife and my daughter. School people denied to be referees and surgeries don't give personal info, so i have these referees. I hope that would be okay to submit the application. Please suggest. thanks.

Yes, it is OK. it is a well known issue that schools and GPs refuse to give personal details for these applications.
