need to renew Nepalese passport

Post by rika2493 » Mon Aug 03, 2015 12:26 am

Hey I'm quiet disappointed I don't know what I'm supposed to do. I was born in Hong Kong in British military hospital. My father served the Brigade of Gurkhas for 22 years. I'm not sure my passport has expired and its on NTL settlement and its a Nepalese passport . I want to renew it since. It has expired but I do not hold the Nepalese citizenship certificate TO RENEW. They ask me for my citizenship certificate of Nepal but never had one so how am I supposed to renew my passport ? And I don't hold any citizen certificate for Nepal or Hong Kong. What are my avaible options
Any idea I want to travel soon.
Thanks :)

If the citizenship certificate is a mandatory requirement for renewal of passport and you don't have one, then you will have to apply for one.
Nepalese embassy in UK should be able to advise you on how to apply one.

You may well be aware of it but this is what I could find about it on the internet (Wikipedia):
Nepal citizenship certificates wrote:In Nepal, a Citizenship certificate (the legal paper denoting citizenship) is issued only to persons who have attained the age of sixteen. A person who is more than 16 years old and who wants to acquire citizenship certificate on the basis of birth or descent is required to apply for the same by including with the application the Nepali citizenship certificate of one's father, mother or the close relative in his lineage, one's birth certificate, the certificate attesting one's lineage, the recommendation of the Village Development Committee or Municipality concerned, the land-ownership certificate in one's name, father's name or mother's name, or the receipt of the house tax.
Life isn't fair, but you can be!
