VFS Appointment - Surrender Indian passport

Hi Guys,

Did anyone managed to get the appointment, Checking all the time not a single slot is coming up.

has anyone able to book an appointment? this is so frustrating, nothing ever available.

I send an email two days back and got the following reply. Not very helpful, though.

service appointments were opened on 24/02/2021 and due to huge demand, most of the appointments have got booked quickly.

Please keep checking https://www.hcilondon.gov.in/appointment_home/
regularly for new and cancelled appointment slots. Further appointment slots would open shortly. Kindly
check on a day to day basis for any cancellation or next available date.

Hi all,

I managed to book an appointment last week, though in Birmingham as it is my jurisdiction. I have been waiting since the pandemic started (when I obtained my UK citizenship) to get an appointment to surrender my Indian passport.

Couple of points to note:

1. If you are calling VFS, especially if it goes to voicemail, keep trying again. Their system is not setup to directly put you on hold

2. Appointments seem to be opened up at random times of the day, but primarily in the evenings, around 5 pm ish.

The demand is currently high as there are quite a few of us waiting to surrender passports or apply of OCI etc where UK Citizenship services have been operational but Indian Consulate has not been. All I can suggest is keep checking every 20 to 30 mins or so and hopefully you would be able to find a slot.

1- Can I book in London as I cant get any appointments for birmingham. I live in Birmingham

I need to update/renew my 5 yr old sons OCI as he had a new UK passport

Can I select PCC and other miscellaneous services or do I have to select OCI option, If i select OCI option I see no dates even in london

Quick question- my county is Buckinghamshire and according to jurisdiction I should book an appointment at either London- Hounslow or Goswell. But no appointments available. However there are lots of appointments for Birmingham and Leicester center. So I was wondering if I can apply to surrender my Indian passport in either Birmingham or Leicester

Has anyone been able to book appointments lately? If there is a specific time that you should be trying to book an appointment like a certain date/time as I am trying to book an appointment now and everything is showing as red.

12 IST. Appointments are available with 6 weeks lag. HCI is flexible now with VFS office. One can go to any of the centers.
