Partner visa extension if the dependent gets ILR from tier 2 / skilled worker

Post by aseemahuja1 » Wed Jan 10, 2024 11:24 am

Hi All ,

Wanted to confirm if my partner can get extension without visa timeline reset, as she will be completing her 5 years after 15 months once I can get the ilr now.
My partner visa needs to be renewed for the 15 months with my ILR once it comes.i will be completing my 5 years on tier 2 / skilled worker visa but would need to apply for extension for my partner so that she can complete her 5 years ( initial 3.5 years as tier 2 dependent and now remaining 1.5 on ILR dependent) without resetting the time spent.

I hope we can do that even if we apply in a separate application.
Appreciate if you can specify which visa category I can apply for my partner

Thanks in advance

She can apply for a 3 year extension as a PBS dependant assuming your last cisa before ILR was skilled worker.

Thanks for the reply.
Can’t she apply for 2 years instead of 3, as she can complete 5 years in the next 1.5 years.
I hope we can apply in two separate applications once I get my ilr first.
Thanks in advance!

It is a 3 year extension as dictated by the immigration rules. You can choose to apply for less time.
