Timeline for Passport Applications

I was wondering if there was any way we could collate timelines for passport applications into one place.
There are occasional updates in the naturalisation thread for passports, but very hard to find and rare.

Has anyone got a British passport in recently? How long did it take after posting the application?

Please share your experience using the following template:

Application Type (New/Replacement etc):
Date of Ceremony(if applicable):
Date of Passport Application:
Method Used: (Postal or Post office)
Date application received by IPS:
Any Additional Info Required by IPS?
Date of Passport Appointment:
Date of Passport Receipt:

Was able to get ref no for my wife by calling them as i was yet to receive her letter.

Looks like currently london office has huge backlog of about 400 applications and it can take about 7-10 days for london office to call and confirm the appointment. so opted for Luton

It is 11weeks ………..still waiting for my approval. Even after receipt of my approval, I still have a few problems. My present contract is ending on 31/07/2011. I need to attend job interviews for which I need my current passport. Do I need to send my current passport for British passport application through check & send service at post office? If I do need to send it, how long does it take for them to return the passport? Can some one shine light on this please? Thanks for your help in advance.

Haven't a clue. We've requested in this thread and I've PMed 2 moderators but haven't had a reply yet *shrugs*.

no matter but check and send is better than direct post bcoz they check ur app before sending to ips

Hello matey, did you receive the interview letter today as well? or well before now?
Did you call them before reception of interview letter to book interview?
