1. Red 9 digit number on the right hand corner.
2. VAF number just below visa expiry date.
Which number to use as Reference number in the application. Please help.

I called up Home Office today to enquire about visa reference number. It is indeed the longer 9 digit number printed in red.
Even I was confused with the difference of opinion. Hence I telephoned the UK Border agency customer care and asked them. Even the person who answered me was not sure which number was correct one. and some people on this forum put in the VAF no: as the reference number and reportedly got their visa..
. She even told me not worry about it, if there is a mistake then the caseworker will have your passport to check into. So everyone, donot be too nervous and lose your sleep over it.
