Thanks for sharing. Nothing there suggests to me, that child can not apply for this visa. The line thats contentious is "be visiting the UK for no more than 6 months". Which in our case would be 2 months. Once we get ILR, we can always apply for British Passport for the child ? Is that correct ...

Could you also point me to a link/extract on UKBA rules/policies which states the above or restricts Tourist visa for those intending to settle later ?

Though I am sure you guys have some experience than me, certainly :) In principle, as long as the child is only in the UK for 2 months, before directly applying for ILR as a dependant on us, why (in principle), can the child not be ...

Even though its only for 3 months ? As we return in Dec 2014 and apply for ILR in March 2015. So could apply for Baby's passport in March/April 2015.
