Re: Denied flight boarding by Easyjet, non-eu spouse

Have just also been denied boarding by Ryanair at Stansted Airport. Asked to get it in writing that we presented a marriage certificate and were together but were still refused boarding. Was told that it had been added to our booking notes which could then be requested from Ryanair. The man we spoke ...

Denied flight boarding by Easyjet, non-eu spouse

Hello, I'm currently at Gatwick Airport having been refused entry onto an Easyjet flight, due to not having a schengen visa for my Sri Lankan husband. We've travelled before in Europe with our marriage certificate as proof of the right to free movement, including with Easyjet just a month ago, and ...

Renewing Spousal Visa granted under humanitarian grounds

My husband's spousal visa is due for renewal. It was granted under humanitarian grounds previously as we didn't meet the financial requirements. We now do meet all the requirements (although the humanitarian element requiring his stay still remains) - so how should we go about renewing? Thank you ...

Renewing Visa After Financial Circumstances Have Changed

My Sri Lankan Husband's Leave To Remain visa is expiring soon - it was granted under humanitarian grounds after an appeal. At the time our joint earnings were under the threshold, but now some two years later we own our own company and are above the threshold. My question is, when it comes to ...

Appeal Allowed, Can I Work?

Hi, my partner and I received a successful court decision on 27th August "under the immigration rules, and alternatively on human rights grounds". We got our court fee back, and we are now waiting for the visa and passport documents. I know this can take 12 weeks or more, but I have received a job ...

Travelling while visa application in progress

Hi, I'm a UK citizen with a non-EU spouse - we are currently applying for his visa. The visa was actually just rejected because the Home Office didn't think there was too great an obstacle for me to relocate to his home country instead, but we have applied to appeal and are now waiting for a court ...

Re: Don't meet financial requirements - what next?

That could mean having to be apart for up to a year from my husband, and he can no longer keep his sexually private, the cat is out of the bag so to speak, so he might not be safe. Attitudes towards homosexuality unfortunately aren't as progressed there as they are here in the UK. I'd rather go the ...

Re: Don't meet financial requirements - what next?

Unfortunately, the rules state you have to have earned £18600 in the last 12 months, and £18600 from the last six months when doubled. My husband has a job offer with the current job he works part time to go full time, which would take us to 24k a year between us. But as his current student visa e ...

Re: Don't meet financial requirements - what next?

Would they take into account homosexuality being illegal? We would not be able to live freely as a married gay couple in Sri Lanka without fearing social or legal repercussions. I have read that they would expect us to keep it private, but he told some of his family on a recent visit and they ...

Don't meet financial requirements - what next?

My Sri Lankan husband's student visa is expiring at the end of this month (October) - I'm a UK national. Because of the conditions of his student visa, he was only able to work 10 hours per week in the nearly 5 years that he's been here, which combined with my income puts us about £3000 short of the ...
