To reiterate, my father has never registered me as a British citizen. I understand that I'm British by descent, but it just surprises me that it's that simple. Does this mean I could travel to the UK on my US passport and live/work there indefinitely w/o a visa? To apply for my British passport, all ...

That's fantastic to know.

So do I need to "register" for my citizenship or just apply for a British passport?

Should I go to the British consulate in my city tomorrow to get started on this?
