Re: New citizenship form UKF

Yeah, they just said something similar... Finally had a reply from Home Office this morning stating that in fact they sent my 'documents' (what I presume is the certificate) towards Toronto on 'March 12th', and said it could take 8-12 weeks for the delivery of those documents, which makes no sense ...

Re: New citizenship form UKF

Have any of you heard any update on when biometric enrolment for UK citizenship is going to be possible in the USA? I think bfrenchfry mentioned a few weeks back that it could possibly be by the end of Feb 2016 but I just wondered if anyone had any updated info? The letters a number of us received ...

Re: New citizenship form UKF

They gave me back about half my documents with the biometrics letter, which was at the start of December. The rest I'm hoping they haven't lost and I'll get them back if/when I ever get an acceptance letter. But we'll see! I suppose no news for you this week, bfrenchfry? Still nothing and getting ...

Re: New citizenship form UKF

Hey guys, just received a letter from home office saying my application "raises exceptionally complex issues", so it will take more than 6 months to be processed!!?? I read it is not uncommon, but I am worried and can't understand which complex issues my application raises. My father was British ...

Re: New citizenship form UKF

So I have some good news! I received my approval letter this past weekend. Woohoo! It was dated 27th January, which is two days short of the 6 month mark. The Citizenship ceremony invitation should arrive within 2 weeks. I applied from within the UK, and I'm from Nigeria. No MP or lawyers involved ...

Re: New citizenship form UKF

A question for those of you who have enrolled your Biometrics in Toronto, when you logged in to make the appointment were you able to get an appointment within a short time frame? I understand, from those who have kindly shared info about their experience here, that Biometrics can only be done on ...

Re: New citizenship form UKF

So, I'm starting the process of getting my husband to Canada to do his biometrics. For him I'm going to apply for a passport card rather than request his documents back from the UK, but I'm running into an issue. I'm not doing a renewal or applying for lost or stolen, I just want a passport card ...

Re: New citizenship form UKF

Hey Guys, Can anyone give me a telephone number to chase up my daughters UKF application? Waiting so long and never get an email answered.. Thanks in advance John As Antsmall mentioned before: The Home Office Nationality Hotline (or some such similar name) is 0300 123 2253 (choose option 1). If you ...

Re: New citizenship form UKF

Good stuff, Thanks for the update, bfrenchfry. We actually missed each other by a hair- I'm next tuesday in Toronto. Hopefully they'll be a little less confused next time. And I'll definitely show up early. Question for you- when you went through the whole vfsglobal thing, did you have to put ...

Re: New citizenship form UKF

Hi all, just an update, hopefully it will help others. I went to Toronto yesterday to enroll my biometric information. As someone mentioned before you have to make an appointment in advance (Toronto only does theirs on Tuesday mornings from 10-1). The appointment booking doesn't say you have to get ...

Re: New citizenship form UKF

Thanks bfrenchfry! I have been in process since April 8. In fact, it appears they lost track of me, since I never even had the ceremony fee taken until late August, and only after I emailed several times. So I am at just about 8 months. The letter I got in October did not mention any contact, so I ...

Re: New citizenship form UKF

I will let the forum know. As for "lying" about my country of residence, I am going to speculate until I actually go to the appointment. So here is what I think, the "country of residence" selection on the web site is used to narrow down locations for an appointment. They have these places all over ...

Re: New citizenship form UKF

By the way, I just wrote to that email address (NationalityBiometricsOverseas@homeoffice.gsi.gov.uk) which was given on my 'biometric delay letter' as the only means of arranging for my passport to be sent back in order to do my biometrics outside the USA, and I received an auto-reply saying ...

The site for Canada is: http://www.vfsglobal.co.uk/canada/book_appointment.html. There is a special link for overseas citizen application. You must select "Canada" for country ...

bfrenchfry, Thank you so much for your reply. How awful! I feel so bad for you and anyone else who has been waiting so long and now are just stuck. Re: Biometrics in USA (for MN1 3(1) application

The fees have been charged to my credit card and I am now waiting for the letter of acknowledgement and the ...

Re: New citizenship form UKF

Today I received my daughter's certificate of British Citizenship courtesy of UKF and it is a great feeling! Took just over a couple of weeks to get to me here in Thailand, but the certificate is dated around end of October, which was give or take a couple of days, more or less exactly 6 months ...

Re: New citizenship form UKF

Thanks for the info. Although - how can we go abroad when THEY have our passports? Was there any mention of how we might get our passports back without wasting yet more months of our lives? I'm getting exceedingly cheesed off with these creatures. I know, right?! Last week I finally got my passport ...
