EU documentation is mandated by EU Directive not dictated by UK gov; (simply transposed into UK law from EU law and the Directive).
You are right!

Re: 137 Pages EEA application form, what for exactly

Home Office confirms that official EEA series application forms are not mandatory . Just as a quick update to Vinny's earlier post, from 1st February 2017, all applications for EEA documentation will have to be made on the specified Home Office form ( Regulation 21 ). Interestingly, all ...

Re: 137 Pages EEA application form, what for exactly

It's a very time-consuming process. I even do not understand why it is necessary to provide biometric data for the EEA(FM) of the non-EU. The EEA(FM)-certificate is just a sticker in the passport. And to make it even more inapprehensible, when you just go to the boarder with a marriage-certificate ...

Re: EEA Family Permit - Date of Intended Travel

@Casa: Ok, thanks. @MrSlyFox: Based on the new guideline (I have posted information above) you are able to identify yourself with an EU-address (for example, my ID-card contains my current address). I have to admit, that I didn't spend a thought before it, but I don't see a problem to open a bank ...

Re: EEA Family Permit - Date of Intended Travel

Hi Casa, So, in other words: We should apply for the EEA Family Permit-Card beginning from the 11th December? We want to submit the request for the EEA Family Permit this week. In regards to the bank account. Since the 18th September the guideline 2014/92/EU has to be executed. For example Lloyds ...

EEA Family Permit - Date of Intended Travel

Dear all, I would like to ask you to take a little bit of your time for my issue. My wife is a non-EU and I'm an EU-citizen. We want to apply for the EEA Family Permit-Card, so that my wife can easily travel into the UK for a permanent stay. My new work will start in January. I'm able to find the ...

Re: EEA FP - What to do after the first 6 months?

Guys - thank you very much!

I always thought it is nothing more to do because of the free movement rules of the EU (it petted my misunderstandings only :) )
I will start some knowledge building on how to apply for Residence Permit / Residence Card now :)

Cheers,

Re: EEA FP - What to do after the first 6 months?

Hi noajthan, The FP is only for entry to UK. Really? I didn't know! Assuming you are EEA national (& exercising treaty rights in UK) & wife is non-EEA (& now in UK with you)... Yes, I'm EEA national and my wife is non-EEA. We're not living in UK yet. I will exercise treaty rights in UK (and my wife ...
