Re: Domestic Violence Whilst on Spousal Visa

Ok so what is likely to happen in a case where the spouse on a visa alleges domestic violence, only provides one police report which resulted in no further charges? Would it likely get rejected? Would she likely be deported? If she has British children, would she have any other root to stay if the ...

Re: Domestic Violence Whilst on Spousal Visa

Also what are the legal consequences to both parties for failing to disclose they are separated if they are not legally divorced? Not sure what you mean by legal consequences. By legal consequences, I mean is it a crime to not report a separation? Can either party be prosecuted or can anything ...

Re: Domestic Violence Whilst on Spousal Visa

Ok, in this particular case, an allegation was made to the police and insufficient evidence was found and the case was closed. Can a police report still be considered sufficient evidence? Also, the couple only lived together 3 or 4 months. Is that enough time to apply for ILR on DV? What is ...

Domestic Violence Whilst on Spousal Visa

Hi everyone, urgent question. What happens when a person is on a spousal/settlement visa, and then alleges domestic violence to the police, and the police find no evidence of domestic violence and take the investigation no further? From what I understand, the mere allegation entitles the victim to ...

Re: Bringing my mother in law to UK

Is there a list of documents and evidences I can attach to the application to make it easier for my mother in law to maximise her chances of success? Also is there a template for an invite letter I can write to say she will stay with me, and she is invited here etc? Any resources etc that you might ...

Ah ok thanks we will do that. Will her leaving in 4 months demonstrate her observance of the rules and increase chances of future visas being approved?

Re: Bringing my mother in law to UK

How long do you recommend we try for to maximise chances of success? I thought you were granted 6 months of visa time regardless of how long you planned to come for? Would her husbands income count as proving her self sufficiency? If evidence of his home ownership, income, and their marriage and co ...

What happens to settlement visa in case of divorce?

If someone comes to the UK on a settlement visa and then they divorce, does a person need to immediately leave the country, or do they have time to reapply for a different type of visa? Would they need to apply for their visa from UK or their home country? If the couple have children together, and ...

Re: Spouse visa and UK Army Reserves

Army reserves get no special treatment for visa applications except for the fact that you are entitled to a cheaper lawyer to help you fill in your application if you choose a lawyer, and you can mention being with the army reserves in your covering letter as a supporting point to demonstrate good ...

Re: Help Settlement Visa

Ultimately we can't say for sure what the result will be until it comes. Since you have already submitted it now, there isn't much you can do except wait. You never know, maybe they will go easy on you, although I wouldn't hold my breath with the home office. They aren't exactly known for being ...

Re: Help Settlement Visa

I am struggling to understand.

So you completed your application and sent all documentation in but didn't send an english language certificate?

What did your email from ECO say? The one you received in May.

What lead you to submit the application before you had all the documents together?

Re: Settlement Visa Approved. What next?

Ok so the issue is we have a son with my missus who still doesn't have a passport. So my plan was for her to come here, pick up her biometric card plus all the documents needed for a passport application for our son, and then return back home like a day or two later. So is there any way to guarantee ...

Re: Settlement Visa Approved. What next?

I just checked a pdf copy of my original application form I generated using the website, and I do have a post office specified. Re: Settlement Visa Approved. What next?

Yes 30 day validity visa. We haven't been asked to nominate a post office though? When are we asked to nominate a post office? I was planning for her to fly here just briefly to pick up her visa and then return home whilst I sort a few final things out to move her here permanently. I want her to ...

Settlement Visa Approved. What next?

My wife's settlement visa was previously rejected and I appealed to the home office. At the tribunal I was awarded the visa and the home office never appealed. My wife gave in her passport and I paid the NHS surcharge. She has now received her passport back with a stamp. I want to understand what is ...

Settlement Visa Rejection Appeal won. What next?

Hi everyone. Towards the end of 2017 I applied for a settlement visa for my Moroccan wife. It was rejected as there was a mistake on one of the forms. I appealed and at the end of 2018 I had my court appearance and won the appeal. I was told the judge would contact me within 4 weeks. I heard nothing ...

So annoying how no one bothers to feedback the results. Its selfish to only want to use the forum to get help without caring about helping others. We should all try to feedback our experiences and results

Re: do i meet the financial requirement?

I didn't say you did but on a similar note, we shouldn't just believe everything we read on the internet. Its peoples family life at stake so we need to verify things. I dont think there is anything wrong with that.

Re: Application submitted

I was completely confused as online it said that I had to scan it all in at Rabat but in Rabat they told me wife to send it to Sheffield. So the online information appears contradictory to what happened at the centre.
