British Passport for Child Born in UK

Hi, Our daughter was born on Dec 7, 2018. I and my wife both hold Indefinite Leave to Remain in UK. I was wondering if we can apply for our daughter's British passport based on her birth certificate and our ILR, or we first have to get citizenship certificate and then apply for the passport. Regards ...

Referees for MN1 Application

Hi everyone, I have been in UK on Tier 2(General) visa for past 5 years and just got my ILR. My son was born in UK 2 years ago and I am going to apply for his citizenship. In MN1 guide, it is mentioned that the application needs to be endorsed by 2 referees and: "One referee should be a professional ...

Naturalization (Staying Abroad more than 90 days)

Hello, I am currently in UK on Tier2 General visa and my wife is on Tier 2 Dependant visa. Our applications for ILR are still under process and we are likely to get our ILR in April (i.e. 6 months after we applied in last October). In order to be eligible for naturalization, one should not be away ...

Re: Shifting to ILR from Tier 2 (General Visa)

Hello, Since I am applying for ILR under Tier 2, Section 6 of the application says that I should provide 'Evidence of all work-related absences (including paid annual leave)'. I have changed 3 employers during past 3 years and have had taken vacations during each period of employment. Do I need to ...

Re: Shifting to ILR from Tier 2 (General Visa)

i have got letter that says my current contract is valid until Oct 30, 2017. Would that be that enough?

Or should I get a different letter stating they would extend my contract after the current contract expires?

Re: Shifting to ILR from Tier 2 (General Visa)

I am applying by post, not in person.

What if my employer does not extend my contract while my ILR is under process? Does it have any impact on my application?

Re: Shifting to ILR from Tier 2 (General Visa)

Thanks again.

Another question: my Tier 2 (General) expires on Oct 30, 2017. If I apply for ILR now, do I have to work with the same employer or can I change employer while my ILR application is still in process?

Thanks.

Re: Shifting to ILR from Tier 2 (General Visa)

Thanks for the prompt reply. Another question: My son was born in UK a year ago. Should I apply for his ILR along with my application as well? Or can I apply for his citizenship after my ILR has been approved? My Tier 2 visa (as well as my son's Tier 2 dependant) expires on OCT 30, 2017. What would ...

Shifting to ILR from Tier 2 (General Visa)

Hello, I got my Tier 2(General) Visa on August 29, 2012. My wife got her Tier 2 Dependant visa on Nov 2, 2012. Our current visas are valid until Oct 30, 2017 and we are applying for ILR. I can apply for ILR now (as my 5 years on Tier 2 visa would be complete on August 29, 2017). but she has to wait ...
