What would you recommend, should i go in and apply by hand or will it be okay to apply via post as long as i do send all the documentation before the 9th?

also what would be my status during the application time ?

1. I entered UK on the 29th March 2007
2. My visa is valid from 09/03/07 till 09/03/09

I think its common sense that a surveyor's report would make your application look more official and easy to trust than just a photo. If i were you i would do both. And like sameer said MAKE SURE everything is attested by a solicitor.

Im sure you have already done this but the best way forward is to find out from the family whome he was staying with that was he taken away by the UKIS arrest team and if he was were they given any supporting documents for his arrest or not.
