I've found some (somewhat) helpful info. This excel sheet was information issued from Home Office under freedom of information act - it shows how many were approved/denied in each band of points. Question - if your job has been advertised as a range ie £40,000-35,000 does this mean that your points can be calculated off the higher amount? Or do the points get calculated from the exact salary that an employer is actually offering a particular candidate?
This whole thing is so frustrating. I wouldn't care so much if I was just sitting in a queue but at 30 points so many people will just jump in front month after month. The system is flawed, it's so disheartening
