Should I contact UKVI?

My American wife has posted her documents to the UKVI in New York for inspection. This was over 3 weeks ago and we still haven’t heard anything. Is this unusual? I though all that happened at the UKVI is they scan the documents over to Sheffield? Will they email us to let us know they have done this ...

Did we do the right thing?

This should be my final message. So today my wife got her biometrics in Tampa Florida. Our lawyer told us that they would scan all her supporting documents and keep her passport at the appointment. However they didn’t do that. They just stamped our biometrics receipt and gave us a piece of paper t ...

Biometrics after you apply for the Spouse Visa?

Just wanted to check. With everything having to be dated within 28days does this mean I can get the biometrics done after applying. The day you apply, which I guess is send off the basic required paper work, everything has to be dated within 28days but then can the biometrics be received after ...

Re: Basic questions sorry to repeat...

Since an ISA account is annual statements should I just give them the one statement from March? It has the correct amount or should I see if the bank can print of 6 months worth? For visa purposes the latest financial documents such as bank statements must not be older than 28 days from the date of ...

Re: Basic questions sorry to repeat...

Thanks guys. Just to add to that I will also be combining some savings. I have had the correct amount in my ISA for the last 6 months. Since an ISA account is annual statements should I just give them the one statement from March? It has the correct amount or should I see if the bank can print of 6 ...

Basic questions sorry to repeat...

I know these are common questions but I just want to be 100% sure. 1. If I have original bank statements should I still get them stamped and signed just to be sure? How do the immigration people know they are legit anyway? 2. If you have to show only 6 months of payslips how do they work out your ...

Re: U.K. Spouse Visa, living with family?

Thanks for the reply that’s great to hear. The letter that your parents provided, I’m guessing it was typed and printed, did you get them to sign it too? Or would you say that’s not necessary?

U.K. Spouse Visa, living with family?

To make it easier my parents have offered for me and my wife to stay with them until we can get our own place. They have 2 spare bedrooms and own the property. They’re willing to provide Proof of address etc. The question is what if we only stayed a week or two and then found a different place to l ...

Payslips and Bank Statements different address??

My bank statements have my correct address. This is also the address I’m using for my accommodation when we apply. I’ve only just noticed on my pay slips that 2 didgets of the postcode are different. To be honest i don’t even know how they’ve made it to the house the past year? By looking at it you c ...

Renewing Spouse Visa Cost?

I should probably think ahead. I can’t find anything online? What is the cost to renew the spouse visa after 2.5 years? After that you can apply for Indefinite leave to remain? But how much would that be? At the moment the spouse visa is looking to be around £3000 with all the extra charges. Will we ...

One More Question... hopefully....

U.K. Spouse Visa... I mentioned we are able to use our savings along with my income to meet the required amount. My savings are in my ISA account and of course I have money in my current account. Would I just send bank statements from both accounts? Just making sure that the money is fine in the ISA ...

Registering as Self Employed on Spouse Visa

This is probably a simple answer...I hope. Me and my US fiancée are applying for the U.K. spouse Visa. All going well we get it and then she has to find a job in England. We are both professional dancers. Her aim is to obviously get work as a dancer. Dancers are basically all self employed. Will she ...

Re: Is a Fiancée Visa necessary?

So if we legally get married in the US we can go straight ahead and apply for the Spouse visa? That sounds like a good idea. I was just worried because the marriage laws are different in the US. The marriage certificate will still be 100% valid? The thing is we would still need to apply for the US ...

Understanding the Spouse Visa ??

Hi Everyone, My girlfriend is American and I am a British citizen. I’m a little confused with what the difference between a Marriage Visa and Spouse Visa. We would ideally like to live together in the UK before we even think about getting married. Online I’ve read that you can apply for a spouse vis ...

Re: US citizen Entry to UK on foreign passport?

So am I right in saying it’s perfectly legal for her to enter the country on the Italian passport. Explain at border control that she’s here to live with me and look for work/audition. She won’t need any kind of work permit or visa? How log can she stay in the country for?

US citizen Entry to UK on foreign passport?

Hi everyone. My girlfriend is American and I am British. We’ve been together for a while now. We actually met working as dancers on a cruise ship. We want to get back to working on land and decided we’d prefer to live in the UK. Most likely London and audition for the West End shows as we’re both per ...
