T1E jobs requirement

Hi everyone, I will be applying for ILR via the Tier 1 Entrepreneur path next year in August, all things going well. I have invested in two companies and am a director in both. When renewal comes around, if one of those businesses has closed down (and I am no longer a director) but it employed all ...

Clarity on FPS

Background: I'm on a T1E (200k) visa and have had it extended recently. Next step is ILR. I used a lawyer to submit my extension application but would like some clarity regarding FPS documentation used in successful applications. My reading of the requirements is that we demostrate that all taxes ...

Re: Tier 1 Extension Preparation

Thanks again Marcnath. Yes the XML issue for FPS is interesting. My lawyer did not want to use XML files as he had never used them in the past, but I suspect they are what got us over the line. His reasoning was that XML is basically unreadable and even if opened in a browser it's just code that ...

Re: Tier 1 Extension Preparation

I have just successfully completed my tier 1 (200k) extension. Some thoughts: 1/ Thank you Marcnath and others who provide their thoughts and experience on this bulletin board. It's a big deal for us people trying to navigate the vagaries of this system. Greatly appreciated. 2/ Having used two ...

Re: Use of the Government Kickstart Scheme for job creation

Note also that the Kickstart scheme pays for 25 hours a week, so presumably you would need to pay for the extra 5 hours a week to make it up to the minimum 30 hours. It's not clear to me though whether you could employ another person under the scheme to make up for the 5 hours. Previously the ...

UK domicile for tax

Hi All, Just wondering if any of you have any examples you can provide regarding the assertion of not being domiciled in the UK for tax purposes. I am in the UK on a Tier 1 (Entrepreneur) visa which is due for renewal at the end of 2021. I am completing my tax return for the FY19 tax year and I need ...

Ok thanks! Yes I am starting to realise that! Would you believe that the people who advised me of this are immigration lawyers? They are simply covering their bum from what I can see...

Employment by an investee company that was not used for T1E visa application

Hi folks, I'm a first time visitor here. I obtained a T1E visa on the basis of an investment made in a UK company, call it Company 1. I am a Director with the company and an employee of the company. At around the same time that I invested in that company I made another investment in a different ...
