Oh thank you ! I thought all spouse residence cards were 5 years by default? Who decides the period, do the authorities do it or do you apply for a certain period? And do you have to show them you have enough funds for the first 12 months in all cases or does it need to be enough for 5 years if that ...

Does it help to have lived in the UK previously?

My wife (US) and I (EU) would like to move back to the UK this year. We lived there between 2009 and 2013 and we both had residence card/permit since 2010 (as self-sufficient/privately insured). Will this help in the future with our application? Will self-sufficiency even be an option after Brexit ...
