Section 2.6 on the online AN form?

I'm looking at the PDF version of the AN form where in section 2.6, it asks you to provide your basis of stay in the UK and confirm if you have had CSI if you have spent time in the UK as a student or a self-sufficient person, but I can't find this section at all when completing the application ...

Re: 3/5 year lawful residence requirement question

Thank you. However, it also mentions CSI if you needed it prior to obtaining settled status. Does it mean they will look at all the years before obtaining settled status to check if at all times you were lawfully resident here?

3/5 year lawful residence requirement question

On the AN form, under EEA or Swiss nationals and their family members granted indefinite leave to enter or remain (settled status) under the EU Settlement Scheme, it says: It is a requirement that you were here lawfully in the 3 or 5 year period before making your application. This includes ...

Lawful Residence for EU Students (CSI) - July Form AN Update

In September 2020 the Home Office updated its good character policy for naturalisation for EU nationals. The new policy doubled the period of time, from five years to ten years, during which EU citizens who were students or self-sufficient in the UK during that period of time must have held ...

Re: EEA Citizen Settled Status Application & Sending Documents

Thank you. According to an article from https://europestreet.news from July: 'Contacted by Europe Street, the Home Office says that while at the moment new ID documents have to be sent in for manual verification, the online system will soon allow to make the changes through the “Update My Details” ...

Employment History - Daily Jobs

I have a question regarding section 1.50 in Application for naturalisation as a British citizen form, where I need to provide employment history in UK during past 10 years. I'll be applying using the ILR 5+1 route. I was a student during a part of the 5 year period prior to my application date. I ...

Re: EEA Citizen Settled Status Application & Sending Documents

If I apply for settled status and need to send my ID to Home Office because it's not biometric, will they only start considering my application after they've received the document or is it possible to get a decision before I submit it? Your ID is the single most important piece of documentation of ...

EEA Citizen Settled Status Application & Sending Documents

Hi All, If I apply for settled status and need to send my ID to Home Office because it's not biometric, will they only start considering my application after they've received the document or is it possible to get a decision before I submit it? I have a biometric passport, but it expires in March ...

Re: Settled Status, UK Citizenship, CSI needed for student years?

My understanding would be that you were still lawfully resident without CSI. It's just that you wouldn't meet the requirements for the old EEA-rules permanent residence, but that isn't required for naturalisation, any route toward freedom from immigration time restrictions is fine. Further, I don't ...

Settled Status, UK Citizenship, CSI needed for student years?

Hi All, I'll have lived in the UK for 5 years in a few weeks' time and hoping to get settled status under the EU Settlement Scheme soon. From September 2014 - June 2018, I was here as a student and since June 2018 I've been working full-time. As many others, I wasn't aware of the requirement to have ...

Re: 450 days requirement and study abroad question

I am not expert in EEA regulation. Studying outside the UK does not sound like exercising treaty rights to me but I may be wrong. Settled status is essentially a replacement for permanent residence status :!: I studied at a UK university for 4 years and my degree included a compulsory year abroad ...

Re: 450 days requirement and study abroad question

480 will be the max. However you may find that you cannot even get settled status for now given you were not here exercising treaty rights Thank you, Zimba. Do you mean my years as a student at a UK university won't count towards the 5 years I need to get settled status? Isn't studying one of the ...

Re: 450 days requirement and study abroad question

If I waited until April 2021 to apply, I'll be able to get the number of days out of the UK down to 486, which is so close to 480 days, which are the total number of absences normally disregarded according to the Home Office Guide. I've read on FreeMovement.org.uk that if the applicant's been away ...

Re: 450 days requirement and study abroad question

Thank you, Zimba. I've done some more research and I'd be really grateful for some advice! I've created a timeline assuming that I'll get my settled status later this month and assuming that I'll only be away from the UK for a two week holiday between now and September 2020 when I'll be able to ...

450 days requirement and study abroad question

Hi All, I'm hoping to get my settled status under the EU Settlement Scheme later this month when I will have lived in the UK for 5 years and would like to apply for British citizenship in a year's time. I'm yet to figure out the number of days I was absent from the UK in the past 5 years, but I'm ...
