The unmarried partner visa just says "residence permit" and is indentical to a spouse visa and paractically identical to a student visa . Only the UK immigration officials would be able to know what it is from their records.

And you should be able to make an appointment at a local DVLA office and have your passport authenticated there with no need to hand your passport over. If you have only been in the UK a short time, this is the only way you can apply for a UK driving licence.

Wouldnt that be full time as per immigration rules even though it might be recognised as part time to an educational institution.

Your situation does not sound too hopeful for an UPV. You obviously cannot supply the required 20 documents over the 2 year time period and they are quite strict on this visa.

It comes down to whether the ECO believes your relationship is a genuine one or not, that you have enough money and suitable accomodation, and that you are really planning to get married. If the visa is issued, the daughter can come too if she is included on the application.
