Am i reading it right, looks like they have changed it to 3 years where as for HSMP it was 2 years initially.

Please confirm as i just want to be sure as my plans are really based on number of years.

It is 3 years..correct

Tier 1 General : how many years 2 or 3 for the first time

Hello All : I was curious how many years they give the visa for general tier 1 for the first time : is it 2 years or 3 years.

I think the total number of years for first time + extension is 5 years but do not know the breakup between first time and extension.

can somebody please let me know.

Thanks for the replies. Actually US immigration is pretty complicated and painful. 1. Your spouse cannot work when you are on H1-B visa 2. It might take 4-5 years to get Green Card ( which i think is equivalent to HSMP to some extent ) 3. It takes another 5 years to get citizenship. So until you get ...
