Further leave to remain -dependent children

Hello everyone. I returned to the UK from Vietnam with 2 dependent step daughters on my wife's spouse visa. When we applied my second daughter was under 18. But that was during Covid and it took 1 year for them to approve the visa. Then more time to settle things up in Vietnam and get here. So by ...

Re: I need my kids.

If you do get a lawyer, make sure he / she is OISC registered. Look on the .gov Web site for a list. But that seems rather steep to me. When is the wife going to go back? And did you do what I mentioned, and adopt them legally in the UK, that might just change the whole situation?? Hi The education ...

Re: I need my kids.

My wife is from VN, hence the flag. I know they have very good work ethic and morals, I've spent quite a lot of time there myself. I know the cost of lawyers is high, but there is precious little helpful advice available from the HO, and your case is hard to figure out what the best thing to do is ...

Re: I need my kids.

Hi Yes I did think of it.It's worth looking into. I do half remember something about --if you or anyone else knowingly brings a child into the UK for the purpose of adoption while they are a visitor or under immigration rules it's an offense. But you can adopt a foreign child as a habitual resident ...

Re: Visa for Ukrainian wife

Hi I can't see any problem with you getting a visitor visa. I'm English and was living in Vietnam at the time.My mum just sent an invitation letter saying that she would house and feed us. A copy of her house deeds (but maybe a tenancy agreement is OK too) then some money in yours or her account to ...

Re: I need my kids.

She is quite prepared to give up her right to ILR if it didn't affect theirs - as in they were here for the whole 5 years but she wasn't.

Re: I need my kids.

Thank you for your encouragement. Their natural father died so I'm not sure which is worse. That did cross my mind briefly but i thought if we just continue and the HO finds out that my wife broke the rules they might not get ILR after 5 years. They both want to go to university eventually and ...

Re: I need my kids.

p.S. I'm not suggesting the HO grant ILR but allow me to change over to the child visa. I thought I might get something like a social services report to back up my claim too. it's all very sad and worrying.

Re: I need my kids.

Hi there Thanks for your reply. I was just comparing situations that might have similar precedents. But I'm only a lay man lawyer. I have an online teaching English and recruiting staff for an English teaching concern in Vietnam 15000 a year so I can do that from home. I also have quite a lot of ...

I need my kids.

This may be a very rare case. But they say nothing is new under the sun. It's definitely a complex situatio because I had 2 consultations with 2 lawyers at a loss. My wife , 2 adopted in Vietnam step daughters and I moved back to my hometown in East Anglia 6 months ago on a spouse visa. The adoption ...
