The fact that the Irish government will not issue what is called an EU FAM residence permit to the non-e.u spouse Are you able to name any EU country that is issuing, in respect of applications under its own immigration laws (rather than EU laws) the sort of Residence Card that is needed? As far as ...

The UK does the same thing as Ireland. It only issues Residence Permits under EU law to the non-EU spouses of EEA citizens. It does not issue them to the non-EU spouses of UK citizens UNLESS they are returning to the UK after living in another EEA state (the latter only as a result of the Surinder ...

Unbelievable! Well, thanks for the info anyway. As far as I can see that still does not affect my wifes entry into another e.u state, in so far as she can still get according to the directive a visa at the entry point into the other member state and does not have to get a visa before she leaves ...

Hi, we are wondering? I'm Irish, my wife is Russian. We got married in the UK in 2004, we were living in Ireland at the time and still are but went upto N.I to marry--its faster and easier. My wife was issued a Stamp 4 about 2 weeks later (in Cork) valid for 5 years (until 2009) She also got a multi ...

Re: Petition Frattini for E.U1 situation

Mr.Frattini seems worried about attracting new immigrants... http://euobserver.com/9/24761/?rk=1 Lets complain that immigrant spouses who are already here in Ireland are facing a tough time and are being kicked out by the Irish government. Here's the link to the website of the Vice President in ...

This is the problem you face with EU law, it's there in black and white but the folks on the desks don't know the rules. If it were me, I'd prefer to pay the fees (even when supposedly free) and have the correct visas at all times, cos a holiday for me is to free myself from stress, not add to it ...
