Naturalisation application for wife of British citizen

Hello I am preparing a naturalisation application for my wife. I have already been naturalised in 2020: 1) I have heard someone saying that for her to qualify for not having to wait 12 month after ILR and for only 3 years of residence, her husband (me) should be a ‘true’ British citizen (e.g. born in ...

Start day of qualifying period is day of travel outside uk

Hi I am preparing a naturalization application for my wife. I have already been naturalized as British Citizen in 2020, so I am assuming that: 1) she can apply immediately upon receiving ILR and 2) she needs to prove residency in UK the for 3 years only (please correct me if these two assumptions ...

Re: ILR 5Yr Route- Tier2 Gen Dependent- Document required for child application

Please note that if your son is above 16 years of age, you should provide evidence he is not leading and independent life (evidence of cohabitation with his parents). If your son is above 18 years, he needs proof of English proficiency and life in the UK test. Also, don't forget the police ...

Start of five year period for Tier 2 dependents

Hi What is the start date for calculating the 5-years qualifying period for the wife and children of a Tier-2 migrant (already settled). Is it the date they were given leave to enter clearance, or the date they actually entered the UK. I searched the immigration rules and could not find anything ...

Correct immigration rules for ILR dependents

I entered the UK in 2013 as Tier-2 General migrant then settled and naturalised under same route. My wife and son entered in 2017 and they are now applying for ILR. I know that Tier-2 has been replaced by the Skilled Worker route. What is the relevant set of immigration rules that they have to ...

Re: UK Arrival Stamp Missing

I mean do we need to add a note about this in the cover letter? and will this delay the processing of her application (we are planning to apply using the priority service).

Re: UK Arrival Stamp Missing

She was finger printed, and her passport scanned on arrival. We found the paper boarding pass (the small part that is given to us after they keep the main one). We also should have online check-in confirmation sent by email. Is there anything we can do further?

UK Arrival Stamp Missing

Hi, I am preparing for my wife's ILR application and have been checking UK arrival stamps on her passport. It does seem that the last time we returned from a trip abroad (on 13 January 2022), the immigration officer must have forgotten to stamp her passport on arrival. Will this cause an issue with ...

Re: Average immigration solicitor hourly rate

Many tanks for the advice. I want to use a solicitor as I once failed to know about some required evidence and had a disappointment. Is there any other way of making sure that I have supplied all required evidence and that my application is correct without going to the expense of hiring a solicitor?

Average immigration solicitor hourly rate

Apologies if this is not the right category for posting this question. I was trying to find out the average (and possibly the minimum and maximum) hourly rate for an immigration solicitor in the UK, and the same for an immigration executive (paralegal).

Prescription charge exemption and no access to public funds

Hi Can you please tell me if applying for prescription charge exemption (medical) violates the NO PUBLIC FUNDS condition on a residence permit. For context. If a person lives in the UK on a Tier 2 PBS dependant leave to remain that stipulates no access to public funds, and the person was diagnosed ...
