According to other posts, usually they don't return travel documents if they are expired. If they have driving licence that should do , otherwise I don't think It will be an issue as the department already have it with them and they will collect it anyway during the ceremony. Well ,ll send them an email but it may not get back on time.
But still he has an irp which is valid and perhaps copy of his travel document as the original has been returned to DOJ.

I explained and requested if it can be extended and she said it doesn't work like that..and the next appointment is probably in January😭 Should I just go to the ceremony and see if they accept my GNIB or postpone it? And do you know approximately, what date will i expect to receive the ceremony invite for Dublin CCD ceremony? Will i be invited at all or not?
