I hope you get it soon. The delay could be due to public holidays. But 4 weeks should not be 8 weeks/16 weeks . I would say it is very very slow.

I have had this issue and raised to the desk. Waiting for response. Application for a minor. Anyway parents cannot see the status on their portal. FYI.

@Southernbird, Thanks for the update. I have submitted for details online. Now the 16 yr old application became invisible while the other one 18 yrs old appears. A little funny. But, lets me see how it progresses. As my application is through association I am not expecting it be straight forward ...

Not sure. As long as your stay is legal it will be considered. I think you should not have any issues.

Though I have not applied for an Irish passport. I too did not have a birth certificate however my parents have made a legal affidavit, registered; that document mentions that, i was born on so and so date and both parents have named me "..." and I have been using that document as a legal ...

An online application should provide you the checklist. Typically Birth certificate, Parents stay details Visa stamps etc, residence evidences, utility bills, any DR appointments etc.

I would suggest you apply as soon as the child is born and do not claim any other passports, make Ireland application/passport as the first one.

I am able to login into the portal but, there is no information home/Status/Queries/Registration. Does it mean that my application has not yet been started to be worked upon?

Try with a different email-id. It worked for me.

A valid case my son had Irish passport in similar route. He was Born in 2012, We stayed in NI from 2006 to 2012. Gained ILR 2011 before he was born. As long as you can prove legal stay you can try.
