Global Talent Dependant Extension vs Family Visa - Which Is Better for my situation?

I would appreciate some advice on the best option for my family's immigration situation. I came to the UK on a Global Talent visa in September 2021, and my wife came as my dependant. We were both granted visas valid until September 2026. My wife returned to India in late 2023 for childbirth and came ...

Re: Query Regarding Visa and ILR for Dependants

I just wanted to let you know that my daughter got her visa. Thank you so much for your help! I was about to apply under ILR dependant category and would have lost the fee - you really saved me. Thanks a lot.

Evidence of continued relationship while living apart or outside the UK

This is on behalf of a friend who needs to provide evidence for the requirement "Evidence of continued relationship while living apart or outside the UK" for a dependant visa application. Here's the situation: He and his wife initially came to the UK together. He was the main applicant and she was ...

Re: Query Regarding Visa and ILR for Dependants

I am sorry to bring this up again. I think now understand why you said my child should be applying as a GTV dependent rather than an ILR dependent. I believe the UKVI generally expects a dependent child’s visa status to align with at least one parent’s visa category (the less privileged one). T ...

Doubt Regarding 2-Year Rule for Visa Cancellation and Avoidance

Hello All, I arrived in the UK on a Global Talent Visa (GTV) along with my wife (GTV dependent) in September 2021. Our visas are valid until September 2026. My wife had to travel to India to deliver our child and for her medical treatment and has been there since (close to 18 months). Recently, I ...

Re: Query Regarding Visa and ILR for Dependants

Hi again, I am sorry. I just got confused about how a child can come to the UK through GTV dependent as I already have my ILR. I checked the same through the visa tool checker, which shows I need a family visa. The issue with the family visa cost is 1,846. https://www.gov.uk/check-uk-visa/y/india ...

Re: Query Regarding Visa and ILR for Dependants

I am sorry. Is it possible to apply for a GTV-dependent visa for my child, as this would be her first visa application? For my wife, the situation was different, as she was already a GTV dependent before I got ILR.

Re: Query Regarding Visa and ILR for Dependants

Thank you very much for the help. I was not aware of this earlier.

I’ll then proceed by applying for a child-dependent visa for my child and extend my wife’s visa in 2026. Thanks again!

Re: Query Regarding Visa and ILR for Dependants

Thanks for your reply. I was just wondering how long my child would need to stay in the UK to qualify for ILR in this case. Regarding your question, 'Yes, it will be a 5-year route once again from scratch. Why do you think she needs to switch, though?' Her visa as GTV dependant expires in September ...

Query Regarding Visa and ILR for Dependants

Hi, I arrived in the UK on a Global Talent Visa (GTV) along with my wife (GTV dependant) in September 2021. We got visas until September 2026. My wife travelled to India about a year ago for the delivery of our child, who was born in June 2024. As she has been outside the UK for more than six months ...

Re: Queries regarding switching from GTV to ILR

Thanks very much for the information, Zimba. Somewhere, I have seen that we might need to show proof of residence, perhaps for some other visa. Indeed, the link that you provided was useful. Thanks again!

Queries regarding switching from GTV to ILR

Hi, I am currently on a Global Talent Visa, endorsed under the Endorsed Funder route. I have now completed 3 years and I am now considering applying for Indefinite Leave to Remain (ILR). I have a few questions and would greatly appreciate any advice you can offer. 1. I have lived at three different ...
