sorry your right it was the Visa but i thought a Visa and work permit was the same thing. so when her working Visa expires can she still apply for the ILR 28 days before the expiry date? EDIT Just found out that she got her work permit over here through her employer who got this from the home office ...

Sorry that i've been bothering you all with my questions, but today i called the Home Office and they said that my GF who is on a work permit can apply for her ILR 28 days before the permit expires but they needed to know where they work permit came from if it was from the the Philippenes ...

I found out what an ILR is its to obtain UK residency with no migration control.

I'm not too sure where to look this up, was wondering if anyone could help me.
I'm confused is an ILR what is needed to apply for residency and how long do you have to be in the UK to apply, I read it was 5 years but then noticed that for an ILR its 10 years. I'm very confused.

she is on a 5 year work permit which started in 2006 and ends 2011, she currently works as a Carer, however in her home country she is a qualified Nurse however over here it is not recognized.

Thank you. But thats where i'm confused would she be under the PBS even though she came into this country in 2006 her visa expires 2011.
What I'm trying to say is even thoughe came here in 2006 would she be exempt from the PBS
