EEA family permit vs EEA2 residence card

I'm an American and my fiance is Italian. We will be married in Italy. He is already working in London. Is it possible to bypass the EEA family permit and directly apply for the EEA2 residence card? I know the first one is applied for outside the UK and the second one is applied for within the UK ...

He works full time in London. He's not a student.

This post was to learn about any extra supporting documents that might be useful for an EEA family permit as his wife - beyond what is already written in the application.

No. That's why I started a new post.

We're thinking that it might be best to get married now for documents, then have the celebration with family and friends as planned in June.

When you send in the EEA family permit online, you are immediately prompted make an appointment for biometrics.

Can you get a biometrics appointment within a day, one week (in Rome, Italy) or does it typically take longer?
