Re: Bilateral Visa Mobility Zones for NZ, AUS, UK and CAN

I think its very unlikely. The Brexit vote was largely about immigration & the damage (or perceived damage) its done to the value of low skilled labour. With that in mind selling the electorate on free movement to the old dominions is going to be a non starter. I expect if anything NZ, Aus & Canada ...

You will likely get some grief on arrival as you will trigger red flags on the computer. My old flatmate did pretty much the same thing you are proposing when her working holiday visa expired and they almost sent her packing from Heathrow arrivals. She did eventually get through after a lengthy ...

No it doesn't. They are interested in your personal income over the 12 month period. The tax years are irrelevant.

Yes, so long as you are of good character you can apply for citizenship. You will probably have to attend a citizenship ceremony.

Hi Jana, They won't be interested in whether you are currently working or not in regards to good character. There's no requirement to be earning for citizenship. However they might want to see that you have paid your taxes etc so make sure all your returns are properly filed for your company and ...

Re: Limited Company - being accepted as employed

Do I need to make the PAYE registration from now and have a salary to be accepted as employed. Or is it enough to be the companies director? They will want to see you are making money from the company. You will need your wage or salary slips plus your dividend vouchers and all your bank statements ...

Referee - do they have to be resident in the UK?

Hello, I'm in the process of putting together my citizenship application. One of my British friends is going to sign for the referee that must be a citizen, but I am a bit stuck on the professional referee. I know several lawyers & registered nurses personally but none of them live in the UK anymore ...

Re: Unpaid tax can cause any effect to get ILR

It may affect his/her ILR, not sure whether its come under good character requirements. It will almost certainly come under good character. Not paying or filing your taxes is straight up illegal. The UKBA are hooked up to the HMRC. When I did my ILR I offered the case worker my Self Assessment ...

You should also ask her if she has a grandparent that was born in either the UK or Ireland - many kiwis & aussies do - if that's the case she can then apply for an ancestry visa which would give her 5 years straight up after which she can apply for Indefinite leave.

Could you tell me if the CW asked for any company P&L accounts?. I took my previous years unaudited accounts with me, but she didn't ask for them. She took: Letter from my accountant. Company Bank Statements. Personal Bank Statements. Dividend Vouchers (attested by accountant). Payslips (attested ...

My case was pretty standard I think. I was on a tier 1 previously so had to show income & that I could support myself. I only had about 140 days out of the country - all holidays of no more than a few weeks. My income was from a mix of dividends & salary and I had three kinds of supporting evidence ...

Thanks Ryan, your reply took some of the stress out of it. For the record I was successful with my application. The staff at Liverpool struck me as both professional and friendly. Liverpool PEO - Does it deal with income from dividends?

Hi Guys, I have an appointment @ the Liverpool office shortly for SET(O) IDL after 5 years on HSMP then Tier 1. I notice from reading the board that some of the public enquiry offices don't deal with applications where income is derived from Salary & Dividends (ie. contractors through a limited ...

Thanks heman, much appreciated.

Does it have to be someone in particular? or will anyone do?

Also do they need to send a letter also to identify themselves, or simply sign the back?

Cheers

Hi All, I've just had my appeal, it seemed to go really well, the home office didn't turn up at all and the judge was very sympathetic. However he said I will get the decision in 2 - 3 weeks and I was wondering if this is normal or not (and thus possibly bad)? I'd appreciate it if those who have ...
