Hi, thanks as always for your help. My Dad & his partner are going to be 'back up' support for accommodation. So I will provide all the details of where I am currently living, but write that should we ever need to, my spouse & I can stay at my Father's place. Quick question: they need 'deeds ...

Elizabeth the only problem I can forsee with your accommodation ( because it has happened to 3 people on this forum already ) is that the ECO has strong doubts where the sponsor is sharing a flat with their friends. I know of 3 people who have been refused simply because they were sharing with ...

hey I spoke to the council again - for the immigration inspection - and they said that you have to use the letter within 3 months of it being issued.....have you ever heard of this before? Does the ECO not accept letters which are three months past?? or does it not matter, when the inspection was ...

Hi ElizabethB :) Yes, no harm in including proof that you live at the address, if you have it. IME, "third party support" is not really an issue in respect of accommodation where you pay a contribution to the person you live with. What I have seen questioned is the ability of the property owner (i ...

Sorry to come back to this topic. I wonder if I could clarify a couple of points? Firstly, I (stupidly) forgot to put my name on any utility bills (pay inclusive rent). I do have the following to prove that I am at that address: Bank statements (three banks), electoral roll confirmation, driving ...

Sorry to jump in here, but I have got a letter from my council, following an inspection. It is very basic letter that simply says that the house is occupied by me & my flat-mate, and that it is sufficient for my husband-to-be to join us (and uses his specific name). It mentions what rooms are in the ...

Yes, in a lot of countries that is true and after looking at the embassy website in uganda they link to this which also it looks like you do need to provide a birth certificate (from bitter experience, most if not all BHC's also require a certified english translation of any documents not ...

Hi DFDS / INSIDER for your information, and for your concern! Re: Uganda, he is just living there and working as opportunities are more there than in Burundi. He is not Ugandan and doesn't need a birth certificate from Uganda. I've asked him about the issue of travel documentation for the first time ...

What is your question? My question is, whether this immigration history would pose a problem in his application for a spouse visa, and specifically if it would mean a 10 year ban. Thanks, and sorry for any confusion. So he is in Nigeria now and has been for the past 4 years and wants to apply for a ...

My question is, whether this immigration history would pose a problem in his application for a spouse visa, and specifically if it would mean a 10 year ban. Thanks, and sorry for any confusion. You sure he is telling you the complete truth. I find it a bit odd that he would be sent to Nigeria simply because the UKBA "thought or suspected" he was Nigerian. If he didn't have a valid Nigerian passport, an emergency travel document would have had to be obtained from the Nigerian authorities ...

You can do a print screen shot of your call logs on skype. No need for the credit report. Thanks Elena, that's really helpful to know. You always have such good advice! But for calls made before the last six months, you can't do a screen print... so then would have to take this .csv or excel file ...

Applicant's birth certificate

Hi everyone

I have read that in some BHC offices the applicant is required to submit their birth certificate and/or national identity card in addition to their passport. Is this is the case? Does anyone know whether it is followed in Kampala?

Thanks!

Previous UK immigration history

Dear all I have been reading on other posts about why people are sometimes banned from entry for 10 years due to deception. My fiance's case is somewhat complex and I wonder whether anyone could shed any light on whether he would be banned. Here's a synopsis: Arrived in UK Oct 2000, claimed asylum ...

Skype evidence

Hi all Will be applying for spouse visa (will be married at that point). This might be a bit of a micro-detailed question, but if you can help that would be great. I mainly contact my fiance when I am in UK and he is abroad by 'Skype Out' - using Skype to call his mobile number. I have contacted ...

Refusal of entry due to the passport 'not being biometric' is very dubious. A high percentage of non-British passports (and BC ones) aren't biometric. If he had separated from his wife at the time he attempted re-entry (and his wife had informed the authorities of this) the spouse visa would have ...

Thanks ImmigrationUK2009 and Andyb123, I shall follow this advice. Just to clarify, my friend IS the owner of the house (not a tenant herself), so I should provide inviting letter + property inspection report (and photos & measurements) + property deed and title plan....

Cheers

Thanks again Elena! Very helpful...

Back to the issue of statements, if I have six months original bank statements and then a print-out from net banking to just show current balance would this print-out be completely disregarded?
