Re: SET(M) for Spouse - 2 year route

Correspondence from both of you is a mandatory as evidence of a subsisting relationship/joint address throughout the qualifying period. Documents addressed to your wife alone won't be sufficient to prove this. See Section 12 from form SET(M). Note 8 We need 6 letters or other documents addressed to ...

Re: SET(M) for Spouse - 2 year route

What about the correspondence addressed to you? Do you have only single named documents and if so how many each? The following are addressed to my wife only (included in application): - Counterpart Driving Licence - HMRC Letter from 2014 FLR(M) Application - NHS Medical Card - Security Service ...

Re: SET(M) for Spouse - 2 year route

What about the correspondence addressed to you? Do you have only single named documents and if so how many each? I've not yet included any correspondence addressed to me as it's a simple application for her. Should I be included my correspondence too? Unfortunately, apart from the Joint Current ...

Re: SET(M) for Spouse - 2 year route

Hi CR001, Thanks for your reply. The reason why I have added a covering letter myself is just to explain the fact I am self employed and take the large majority of my income as Dividends, and highlight the HMRC payments I've made in the last 6 months. Do you think it's not required? Yes the English ...

Re: Retake English Test?

Read FAQs - English language requirements for settlement . Hi sushdmehta, thanks for your reply. Seen as the test centre is no longer on the list, should I wait for it to expire and then apply with the expired test as we used the same certificate for her FLR application early 2014? Thanks again.

Retake English Test?

Hi All, My wifes GESE Trinity College English certificate expires in Feb 2016 and I was wondering if we need to re-take the english test before that anyway? I'm aware that the tests and test centres got updated in November/December, so does that mean if the test is still not expired and not from a ...

Re: FLR(M) to SET(M) for Spouse.

Hi noajthan, Thanks for your reply. I meant in terms of paperwork. I know the form will be the same but I wondered if we had to provide company incorporation documents and/or other HMRC documents? Or is that primarily for tiered visa applications. It's a good point in terms of the rush, my wife is ...

FLR(M) to SET(M) for Spouse.

Hi All, Before I get into my questions, I have listed a timeline of events below for reference. - My wife got entry clearance from India on 21/03/2012 (Old rules?) - She got her Trinity College English Grade 5 (B1.1 of the CEFR) on 17/02/2014 (valid for 2 years) - She failed (due to college ...

FLR (M) Old Salary or New Salary?

Hi All, I have an appointment at PEO Solihull on Friday to submit my wifes FLR(M) application as she was not able to pass the LIUK test for ILR(M) in time. For my salary, from 9th June I will be starting a new role at work which means my salary has gone up to £40,000 a year, and because I haven't ...

Visa Expiry Date Question

Hi All, This may seem like a silly question but because the word "2 year spouse visa" is used, I'm a bit confused as to what my wifes visa expiry date is. She got her visa granted on 21/03/2012 and she got her entry stamp on 06/04/2012 and visa expiry of 21/06/2014. Obvious this means that the visa ...

ESOL Skills For Life City & Guilds

Hi All,

My wife took ESOL Skills for Life by City & Guilds in 2013 and passed Speaking & Listening at both Level 1 and Level 2.

Would this be valid for ILR application or would she have to retake Cambridge ESOL?

Re: ILR English Test and Passport Name

Also I have checked her certificate for ESOL SKILLS FOR LIFE and she has passed at Level 1 and Level 2 but the certificate is from City & Guilds. The pdf on the home office website only shows those published by Cambridge. Will this be ok or will she have to retake the test for Cambridge ESOL?
