Passport receipt time after ceremony

I had my citizenship application approved under the (old) JCAP. Passport fees deducted many months ago Just wondering: a) Roughly how long after the ceremony does it take until the passport is received b) I assume it's sent signed for -- could this be sent to a work address, or does the individual ...

Home office response - the envelope?

Just wondering what the envelope that the Home Office naturalisation letter comes in. Is it just a normal small envelope, a large one, satchel or a parcel? Could someone share the return address from theirs? For the next weeks about a two hours drive from my office, which I use as my correspondence ...

Biometrics Card *not* evidence of freedom from immigration restrictions?

I have a BRP that says Settlement and ILR... However the AN guidance says Evidence of freedom from immigration time restrictions • Your passport showing permission to remain permanently in the UK • The Home Office letter by which you were given permission to remain permanently in the UK • If you came ...

JCAP form questions

Regarding the passport application form - (1) It asks for parents citizenship and nationality at time of birth -- is it just asking for the citizenship at time of birth? Or two counties? (2) the NDRS tells us to put our mobile number in S8 rather than in S2. Do we still include our email or is that ...

How many passports to include?

Hello,

I have been in the UK for 15 years, and had a number of passports over time (a few expired/full then renewed).

How many passports do I need to bring to the NDRS?
I assume it's just to cover the last 5 years?
Or all of them?

Thanks!

Re: Date of application

If you do an online application and NDRS, it is the day you submit your online application (and make the payment). In that case, is it OK to have the referee forms (and other supporting materials) dated AFTER the date of the online application (but before NDRS + submission to HO)? Or must ...

Online application - too many absences

I travel a lot for work, meaning I have hundreds of trips out of the country. I have a spreadsheet of these, but not sure the system could handle all of these (also it would take absolutely hours!) Does anyone know if it's just possible to say "see attached spreadsheet" and give that as part of the ...

Online (NDRS) v. NCS --- any real difference?

Was always planning to go via the NCS - as a 'double check'... but seeing as though you can apply online, have your documents back *and* apply for a passport at the same time, the online approach + the nationality document return service seems better.... Just wondering - is there any real benefit ...

Re: Applicability of New ILR Fee

Appointments booked and paid for before the fee increase are processed based on the old fees. Appointments booked and paid for on or after the date of the fee increase, pay the new fees. Just to clarify, in order to avoid the fee increase is it the -the payment that must be made before the new date ...

Fees for booking and reschedule (PEO)

I noticed that the PEO fees go up the end of this week.

If I book a PEO appointment now - I pay the current rate.

However, if I can't make the future appointment for some reason, and I need to reschedule (after the fees go up), do I have to pay the new fee?

Thanks

NCS appointment 1 year after ILR

Just wondering - is the NCS appointment to the day.
E.g. if I got ILR on 04 Jan 2015 can I go for NCS 04 Jan 2016? Do they consider that a year.

The booking people said they do not know :(

Cancelling appointment - refund time

Just wondering how long people have waiting for a refund when cancelling their PEO appointment. It says 4 weeks, but has that been people's experiences? Has there been any hassle in getting the money back? I need to delay my appointment for 6 months, and not sure if I should just keep extending or ...

Thanks - though that says for self assessment. Though it was possible to pay tax on certain earnings without registering for self assessment - which is what I'd like a record of.

HMRC Letters confirming earnings

Long Residency - 28 days PEO even with many absences?

It is clear that for the 10 year LR, an application can be submitted 28 days before the date in which you make up 10 years. PEO applications are decided the same day. Question, if you have many absences (say 176 this year, where 180 are allowed), is it the case you should apply no more than 5 days ...

PEO - meeting the caseworker?

Wondering whether there is any PEO where you actually meet the caseworker assessing your case?

I know in Croydon you never face your case worker, handing your docs to someone else.

Share 10 year (LR) PEO experiences?

Just wondering if anyone could share their experiences?
E.g. where applied, any issues, etc?

[I realise there's a 10 year thread, but hard to find anything within 1000 pages).

10 year PEO - postponed?

Is anyone aware of a situation in which a 10 year SET LR application decision was postponed during a PEO (same day) appointment?
If so, what were the reasons?

Thanks!

If so, could you post your experience (maybe in a new thread)?

Would be great to have a dedicated thread (maybe sticky) for people's experiences with this new application procedure.

I asked a similar question, including whether the 28 days prior could potentially be counted as an 'absence'
Seems not!

Re: SET(LR) 10 year PEO - technical question when to apply

2) If I've understood what you're asking then No, the period of up to 28 days mentioned above will not be considered an absence during your residential period. Great answer - well articulated. Yes, my question was whether the 28 days could be considered as days of 'potential absence' Many thanks.
