Re: Date of ILR application and Citizenship

Thank you Zimba. You are a Star. One more question please. What happens if I lose my job or give notice to my employer after we have made our ILR application as my wife is financially dependent on me? Will I have to notify home office? The reason I am asking is because I want to switch jobs and I am ...

Re: Date of ILR application and Citizenship

Thank you Zimba.

We are thinking about using priority for ILR. But unfortunately we will not be able to apply for naturalisation straight away as she was outside country from Jan 2023 to 18/03/2023.

Is there any ground we can use to apply earlier for naturalisation before 18/03/2026?

Re: self employed on spouse visa

Just bringing up this topic again.

My wife has been registered as self employed since last Nov and she has been making voluntary class 2 NI contributions.

We are having our 2nd baby later this year. Is she entitled to get maternity allowance for self employed as I understand its not a public fund?

If my calulation is right we should be able to apply for ilr from 17/01/2026? I.E 28 days before 5th anniversary on 14/02/2026
Your calculations is correct, you still got to scale the extension hurdle 1st.
Of course. Thank you ever so much for your input. :)

Re: Child benefit and spouse visa extension

Thank you as always for your kind response.

I am a bit confused about capital gain tax. Does CGT counts toward the £50k income threshold? I.E if my salary is £40k and I also earn £20k as captial gain in a year , does it take me over the threshold?
