Unfortunately I submitted my online application and payment prior to the changes to the FLR(M) route being announced/put in place. My PEO wasn't until last Friday, where I was told that the 'date of submission' is the date of the PEO - not the date I submitted online. Therefore, I submitted my ...

Unsuccessful Applications - Waiting period to reapply?

Hello! If I apply for FLR(M) but am not successful, is there a 'waiting period' before any other applications/renewals can be made? I'm currently on a Tier 2 visa which is due for renewal in October. I'm confident my company will renew the COS so I could stay on the Tier 2 - however I feel more ...

No - I am currently on a Tier 2 visa so I can extend that to remain - however I was looking to move to an umarried partner visa due to the unstable job market. Under the old rules, this was a better option but with the new rules, I'm thinking I should risk remaining on Tier 2 and then change later ...

Appointment refunds?

Next question (if anyone is still reading this!) - they were nice enough to give me a new appointment next week but I'm not sure I want to apply under the new rules. If I cancel the appointment could I receive a refund? I have a feeling not but worth a shot to ask!

Thanks,
Dawn

Haha I'll make sure to spank them! I have it in writing that the date of application plus payment means I fall under the old rules, regardless of the date of my PEO - frustrating! And to think I paid them money for that advice...

Thanks!

Date of application 'submission' for Premium Appointments

Hello, I completed my FLR(M) application online and paid on 8 June 2012, booking a Premium Appointment for 20 July. On 18 June 2012 the new changes for Family Immigration were announced, with effect 9 July 2012. I spoke to my immigration advisor who assured me that as I completed my application and ...

Sorry to moderators for putting this in the wrong category!

Thanks for the response sushdmehta. Don't worry about the dependent issue.

As far as I can see, being the unmarried partner of someone with ILR / citizenship doesn't restrict my working - am I correct?

Thanks again,
Dawn

Move from Tier 2 to unmarried partner of ILR holder

Hello, I've been in the UK on a Tier 2 visa for 2.5+ years which is up for renewal by my company in September. My partner has been in the UK for 6+ years and currently holds ILR and will be applying for citizenship in October. I'm interested in switching away from my Tier 2 due to work instability ...

Transferring away from Tier 2

Hi all, I've been in the UK since 2008, currently on Tier 2 General. I'm interested in changing over to either a Tier 1 or a Tier 1 dependent. I have two sets of questions: (1) Can I switch from a Tier 2 to a Tier 1 from within the UK? If I need to return home (US), can I assume this process would ...
