Also re the previous refusals, I can see why they refused her application(s) as there was clearly a compelling reason for her to want to stay beyond the time scale of her visa. This should not penalise you in the case of a settlement visa application but you are right to bring the previous refusals ...

I think the issue here is less about the overstay and more about the fact that you haven't submitted anywhere near enough information to demonstrate a bona fide subsisting relationship.
