Firstly your mother should write straight back to the Home Office explain that she's due to exceptional circumstances, hardship and the welfare of a child should have been given access to public funds. Also request that it is changed now to allow access to public funds as per Home Office guidance ...

Turned 18 and realized no one took child benefit for me..

I recently turned 18 in january, and my mum has never been taken child benefit for me, nor has anyone else.

I have been born here, and was raised here.

Is there any way to get the child benefits I missed out on, or a proportion of it?
