Re: Renounce OCI

Thank you for your reply. It has given me some clear thoughts on various perspectives. I guess there is no straight forward process to actually surrender an OCI. It might be possible, but it seems like an indirect and futile approach that looks to be unnecessary. I guess the word "citizenship" in ...

Re: OCI application confusion

Your best bet is to send as many documents you can and not take any chance. Your case it bit rare and hence only someone who has been in your shoes recently can confidently guide you. You have already decided to send cancelled passports which is definitely not required. Another extra of your wifes ...

Re: OCI application confusion

Has the form been changed recently? If I am not mistaken the last section is 34. For cancelled passports - I have submitted my OCI application in person. I still remember the lady at the counter have asked me to get the copies of the cancelled passport (May be because I had valid visas on it. May ...

OCI application confusion

Hello Friends I am applying for OCI for myself and my 10 month old daughter. I have a confusion regarding conflicting statements that I just came across on the website and form-A, form-B instructions at the end. Re: Delivery of First Adult British Passport

Hmm Thanks for pointing that out ... Much appreciated But I am not sure if it came by royal mail or not. And I though Royal Mail requires someone to sign at home and if they do not find anyone they usually leave a collection slip. I am not trying to be critical out here, but just trying to ...

Delivery of First Adult British Passport

Hi I have a small doubt regarding passport deliveries ? I had my passport interview on 10/07/2014 and on 11/07/2014 I got a message that my passport will be delivered within the next few working days. As I read that "in most cases, your new passport will be delivered by a courier (on behalf of IPS ...

Evience of lawful residence and other BC documents

I am applying for naturalisation as a BC in the next 2 days. I just have a quick query as I am collecting all the documents to send by post. Query: In section 2.1 I have the date as 14/10/2005 since it is when I came to UK with the intention of settling (came on a work permit initially). I got my ...

Re: BC Residence Requirement Doubt

Thanks a lot jambo. Much appreciated I will apply first and then she can apply after I get the BC. So in all she will have to wait for a few more months. I was really under the impression that we both have ILR > 1 year so it must have sufficed. But really missed that she also needed to have 5 years ...

Re: BC Residence Requirement Doubt

Thanks a lot for the reply. But I seem to be still in a quandary. According to FAQ Q1, my wife is eligible as she has completed 1 year after getting an ILR so she can apply, but according to Q2. she might have to wait until I get my BC. Sorry if I am sounding confused, but it is necessary for me to ...
